What’s new in version 20241
New loading screens adapted to the Windows theme
Based on the thematic icons on Home, they present the thematic loading screens. This is available for apps for the Universal Windows Platform (UWP). Now, when a qualifying UWP app is launched, the splash screen color is the default app mode. For example, if you have enabled the light theme you will see a light theme splash screen, and if you have enabled the dark theme (for “default app mode”) you will see a theme splash screen. dark.
The following applications already support this feature. And, in the future, new compatible applications will be integrated:
SettingsBuy Windows SecurityAlarms and ClockCalculatorCardsVoice RecorderGrooveMovies and TVSnip and SketchesMicrosoft ToDoOfficeComment CenterMicrosoft Solitaire Collection
Over time, more apps will be updated through the Store to support a loading screen that supports themes.
This functionality is rolled out to a subset of Insiders in the development channel as a first step. To help them quickly identify issues that can affect performance and reliability. This will gradually roll out to everyone in the development channel.
Defragmentation experience improvements
They make changes to the Optimize Drives section (Settings> System> Storage> Optimize Drives), including:
Add a new “Advanced View” checkbox to list all volumes, including hidden volumes. Note that they always put this in place. We will see the checkbox in this version, but we might not notice a difference when we click on it. Specify more details in the “Current state” column when the volumes are not available for defragmentation (for example, “Partition type not supported” and “File system type not supported”) including Support pressing F5 to update.
As in every version, we have a new Windows SDK in the development channel. Whenever a new version of the operating system is released on the development channel, the corresponding SDK will also be offered. You can always install the latest Insider SDK from aka.ms/InsiderSDK. SDK versions will be archived in Flight Hub along with operating system versions. In this case, from Build 20241.

Known bugs in Build 20241
Microsoft is studying the long time it takes to install a new version. Microsoft is working to implement live preview of pinned pages. For now, the new page pinning experience will only work with news we add, not news we add. that we already have. If we don’t want to wait, we can remove it from Edge: // apps and re-pin it. We may get green screen with KMODE EXCEPTION error while using virtualization technologies. Some users may get a green screen with the DPC_WATCHDOG_VIOLATION error. They are investigating Reports that some devices are getting a DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL bug check in tcpip.sys They are working on a fix where after taking build 20236 devices running Malwarebytes Web Protection can no longer connect to the network. Users can go back to 20231 and pause updates or turn off web protection as a workaround. Selecting predictions from a touch / physical keyboard can associate a character next to the selected prediction. The taskbar may hide the home button from the start menu. If this happens, we can use Win + X to shut down the computer. They are studying GPU compute scenarios, such as using CUDA and DirectML, that do not work in Windows Subsystem for Linux (WSL). Windows Insiders on ARM computers such as Surface Pro X will notice that Windows PowerShell will not start on this version. To work around this problem, use “Windows PowerShell (x86)” or “Windows PowerShell ISE (x86)” from the Start menu if you must use PowerShell. Or download the new modern PowerShell 7 that leverages ARM while running natively. In addition, the icon is prettier.
