CGI and Plena Inclusin Madrid promote employability of people with intellectual disabilities in information technology, green and sustainable sectors

CGI and Plena Inclusin Madrid have signed a collaboration agreement whose main objective is to improve the employability and professional integration of people with intellectual or developmental disabilities in the sectors of information technology, green and sustainable .

This agreement will allow the launch of corporate volunteering actions; integrate workers with intellectual disabilities into CGI staff; support the design and development of technological solutions for people with disabilities, and create and develop the “Laboratory for innovation in sustainability”.

Through this laboratory, the two organizations will implement actions that will allow entities working on professional integration with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, to acquire the knowledge and skills necessary to offer new training opportunities aimed at to train the group to develop. their productive activity in positions linked to the green and sustainable economy.

Thus, various training actions for various work teams will begin, involving people with intellectual disabilities, professionals from the disability sector, public administration and sectors related to environmental sustainability. Students will learn new skills related to circular economy, impact assessment or inclusive methodologies for training and learning to inspire other training projects for people with intellectual disabilities or development which open the doors to future professional integration. .

In this way, Plena Inclusin Madrid and CGI try to respond to the concerns of people with intellectual disabilities facing a future more uncertain than ever because of COVID-19, and facing which they perceive economic, social and professional difficulties. more important as Recent ODISMET studies indicate. Thanks to the collaboration between the two organizations, a sustainable development laboratory will be set up which will allow the development of creative and innovative solutions to current socio-environmental challenges and will contribute to the achievement of Agenda 2030 and its objectives 8 and 11. .
