Electronic Arts has revealed a few more details on their official blog on how upcoming titles such as Star Wars: Squadrons, Madden NFL 21, and Apex Legends will perform on next-gen consoles.
EA has big plans for the Xbox Series X | S
There will be a handful of titles ready to play as soon as the new Xbox Series X is released. It can be counted on the fingers of one hand. These games will be available for backward compatibility, although there will be special next-gen versions of games like Madden NFL 21 and FIFA 21 on December 4.
According to VentureBeat, there are plenty of titles you can play that will receive upgrades. It is only with some titles already available that we see it. Like Star Wars: Squadrons, you get better visual and lighting or performance options, with Motive also adding a variable refresh rate feature.
Apex Legends players can expect a performance boost of up to 1440p, with additional improvements slated for 2021, as well as cross-play with multiple systems.
The Sims 4 base game, along with its special expansion packs, will be on Xbox Series X and Series S with improved frame rates and load times.
EA SPORTS UFC 4, NHL 21, Madden NFL 21, and FIFA 21 will run smoothly on Xbox Series X and Series S, but more similar to how they perform on Xbox One S.
Need for Speed Hot Pursuit Remastered will first be available on Xbox One, and then when support is obtained on Xbox Series X and Series S, it will also get a performance boost.
There are several ways to take advantage of the large number of EA titles in your collection or those you plan to purchase. Depending on what games you are expecting, you may need to purchase a new version. But for many, you’ll get a free update or be able to play without needing it at all.
