At least 7 people died and 70 others were injured in the explosion of a madrasa in Peshawar, Pakistan. It is said that the explosion took place in the Dir colony of Peshawar. SSP Mansoor Aman confirmed the explosion and said investigations were underway to find out the cause of the explosion. Now 7 people have been confirmed dead.
Lady Reading Hospital spokesperson Mohammad Asim said seven bodies were taken to hospital and 70 people were injured, according to Dawn News. It also includes children. He said all the injured are being treated and officials are also present there. Also last month, 5 people died in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa area.
Aseem said an emergency had been declared at the hospital. District police officer Najmal Hassan said the explosion took place in a market which is adjacent to the Kabul River. He said some people collect the waste. There was some explosive in that junk and upon picking up the junk it exploded.
