Huawei is looking for the best programmers in the industry. To do this, it is launching the Huawei Student Developer, HSD Program, with the collaboration of the University-Business Foundation (FUE).

The objective is to train students and young graduates in the field of IT and telecommunications in the programming of applications in the HMS ecosystem (Huawei Mobile Services).

Jervis Su, vice president of Huawei Mobile Services, assures us that “this program is a unique opportunity for young people to train with one of the leading companies in the ICT world. At Huawei, we have the vision and the passion to shape a new industrial reality in Europe. Digital transformation is our main objective, and for this we rely on the best young talents to grow together and take on new challenges.

To participate in the program, those interested must register on the Talentoteca website before November 15th. On November 16, an online training begins in which participants will gain knowledge about the context of Huawei HMS, from the different areas that integrate Huawei mobile services and AppGallery Connect (programmer registration flow, kit integration analysis, card kit and demo, etc.) coding, among other topics.

At the end of the training, those interested can register for a competition where participants must develop, individually or in pairs, an application covering the basic concepts of HMS and the content acquired during the training. This competition will take place from November 19 to December 2.

Tao Ping explains that the main objective of this program is “to encourage young people to take advantage of the adaptive capacities of HMS to create innovative applications that bring the benefits of ‘smart life’ to Huawei users.”

On December 10, the 4 winners will be announced and on December 12 there will be an official award ceremony at the official Huawei stores in Madrid and Barcelona. The prizes of the winners will be a Huawei P40 Pro, a Huawei Matebook 13 and a Huawei P40 Lite 5G. There will be a finalist, who will win a Huawei Watch GT2 and, in addition, among the other applications not awarded a prize, 10 Huawei Band 4 Pro will be drawn.

Huawei Student Development Program

The Huawei Student Developer Program aims to empower young talent, combined with the power of technology, to help develop the innovative potential of young students. This 3-year project, developed across Europe, represents a total investment of 1 million euros for innovation programs. It has the participation of more than 100 European universities, which receive tools and support so that these young people can create the applications of the future.

In turn, it gives students access to over 30 development courses and 100 virtual programming workshops. Attendees can access mentorship sessions from over 150 engineers from Huawei and leading tech companies in Europe. Thanks to Huawei Mobile services, students will be able to acquire skills aimed at improving their technological vision, creating applications and innovative knowledge in HMS Core, Map, VR / AR or Machine Learning.
