In Saudi Arabia, a man hit the exterior door of a large mosque in Mecca on Friday night while driving at high speed. The country’s official news agency gave this information. The Saudi News Agency reported that the incident happened around 10:30 p.m. Friday evening. The person first hit the blockers with his car, then continued to drive the vehicle and then hit the door to the south of the Grand Mosque.
According to the agency, the police arrested the man in the car and according to him, his situation appears to be “unusual”. Video of the incident has also gone viral on social media where security forces can be seen removing the damaged car from the scene. The mosque which was closed due to the Corona virus outbreak was opened recently.
There is a Kaaba inside the Grand Mosque where Muslim Namazis offer prayers five times. At present, only a few people are allowed to enter the mosque. Official Quran TV showed that prayers continued inside the mosque when the car was hit and prayer continued after the collision. The Saudi government has allowed very few people to perform the haj this year due to the corona virus.
