John McAfee, founder of McAfee Inc, lashed out at India’s central bank last week for its harsh stance on cryptocurrency firms and called for a boycott of all financial institutions that have business ties with the central bank.“The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) initiated this atrocity out of fear and won through the existing centralized power structure,” McAfee, a strong advocate for cryptocurrencies, tweeted on Thursday. Tom Waterhouse, one of Australia’s leading bookies, tweeted on Tuesday that a popular crypto expert bet A$ 8.5 million that Bitcoin’s price would overtake Berkshire Hathaway’s share price by 2023.Should his bet pay off, the punter could win up to A$1.2 billion. Monero mined using visitor’s CPU: Torrent’s Pirate Bay warns its users
The world’s most popular Torrent site, Pirate Bay (TPB), has resumed using visitors’ processing power to mine Monero (XMR). In a recent disclaimer added to their official website’s homepage reads”by entering TPB you agree to [monero] being mined using your CPU. If you don’t agree please leave now or install an adBlocker.”In September 2017, the torrent site has been found to be secretly planning to implement an in-browser crypto miner on their official website. The Pirate Bay confirmed that they conducted a one-day trial to test out mining Monero using visitors CPU’s. Read more
