EOS Classic: Launch of mainnet is set for June 9
EOS Classic is just a mineable version of EOS and its mainnet is about to launch on June 9, 2018. The Twitter page shared the news about the same. The Ethash-based digital asset is apparently a “classic integration of EOS & ETH”.
They tweeted saying: “Public POW Mainnet of EOS Classic will be launched at June 9, 2018 ( 3:00 AM for UTC time ) Mining will be available after the genesis launch.” According to a Cryptovest news, the thing that makes it different is its reliance on 105 block producers, instead of just 21. However, the EOS Classic assets distribution is somewhat dubious as it is unknown if exchanges would credit the balances, as the official EOS have promised to credit the balances. Initially, the distribution of EOS cryptocurrency was done to build portfolios needed to become block producers. The equipment to secure the network is not trivial but in case of a mined coin, the network is available to small-scale GPU miners.
According to the report, the classic version would be accessible to the Ethash ASIC miners soon. It is not known whether the same entities that wanted to produce blocks for EOS blockchain will be allocating resources to the Classic version of it. It is also not known when the asset would be traded on exchanges.
Theoretically, many teams could begin running the code for EOS blockchain as owners are asked not import private keys or expose them in any way and to wait out the initial events. Though, there’s very little known about EOS Classic aims we could expect more news to come out eventually as the EOS Classic mainnet launch is about to happen soon. Overall, it might appear to be a really good news but we still need to access and find out EOS Classic’s crypto-market importance. The Reddit community has also remained highly skeptical about this new version.
