Binance lists BitTorrent (BTT), completes airdrop for participants

Cryptocurrency exchange, Binance, recently announced the dates for the launch of BitTorent trading.
Binance announced that the BitTorrent markets opening will commence on January 31, at 10:00 am UTC. Trading pairs will be available to trade against BTT which include BTC, BNB and USDT.
In the official announcement Binance wrote, “#Binance Lists BitTorrent (BTT) and Completes Distribution for Successful Launchpad Participants and Additional Airdrop.”
Reportedly, a public sale of 59.8 billion BitTorrent Tokens (BTT) sold out in a flash on Binance’s Launchpad yesterday, despite a technical glitch. The sale of BTT started at 03:00 UTC and the token sale platform opened its doors to BTT investors through two separate sale sessions. One session was for those who were paying with TRX and the other session was for them who wished to pay using BNB tokens.
TRON founder Justin Sun said, at the time, “ In one giant leap, the BitTorrent client can introduce blockchain to hundreds of millions of users around the world and empower a new generation of content creators with the tools to distribute their content directly to others on the web.”
Now, Binance has confirmed the completion of the distribution of the new token to all Launchpad participants, and also for participants who couldn’t purchase BTT on Binance Launchpad due to the aforementioned technical glitch. The cryptocurrency exchange has also agreed to airdrop 5,000 BTT to users who were affected due to the technical issues.
Reportedly, BTT ICO completed its hardcap of $7 million within just 20 minutes. Binance CEO, Changpeng Zhao, later mentioned in his Twitter account that he believes it would, in fact, taken 18 seconds. It took longer due to such an influx of users trying to buy tokens. According to him, “Demand was astronomical.”
