Bitcoin Cash creator banned from its main Slack channel, here’s why!
Creator of Bitcoin Cash has reportedly been banned from the main Slack channel. The news came out after a screenshot was posted on Reddit in the /r/BTC subreddit by prominent Bitcoin.com CEO Roger Ver. A moderator of Bitcoin Cash Slack channel apparently removed Amaury Séchet. The ban was apparently as a result of a debate over pre-consensus – way to improve transaction times and reliability of zero-confirmation transactions, as cited by DashForceNews.
For those who aren’t are, the conflict in the Bitcoin community last year resulted in chain split. It started with a debate over on-chain and off-chain scaling. Later, changed into a conflict over the nature of Bitcoin (payment system or just a store of value). It lead to the split, creating Bitcoin Cash. Now, the new debate over pre-consensus might split Bitcoin Cash into two, according to Bitcoin.org owner Cøbra.
Prediction: Bitcoin Cash will split into two competing chains within 6 months over disputes around “pre-consensus”. I predict a 60-40 split in terms of price and hashing power in favour of the pre-consensus chain.

Bitcoin Cash community shows disappointment
While some Redditors are blaming the moderator. Some are asking Amaury to take the incident positively. A redditor wrote, “Thank you for all your hard work Amaury. I’m sorry this happened to you. I hope you don’t get bitter about everyone. Most of us don’t agree with this at all. You do so much work, more then most people realize, and don’t necessarily get the recognition you deserve. Ignore the noise. Take a few day vacation perhaps. Don’t burn yourself out.”
Who removed Bitcoin Cash creator from Slack & why?
Another redditor wrote, “So Bitcoin (Cash) is now banning people for opposing views? Must say I’m disappointed. /u/joeldalais any comments? What did he do?” When a redditor asked, “1) Why was he banned? 2) Who banned him?” Another reaponded saying, “1) He was very loud about Pre-Consensus; not a reason to ban him though
2) /u/joeldalais I believe.”
Joel Dalais explains the act saying, “The problem is that sometimes they get lied about, and then drowned out in the ensuing drama (re: blockstream case study, “dev hero worship”, etc) while the person who was *supposed* to be taking care it “flips” and goes all emin+ r/bitcoin on everyone in bch group complex..so you would never see the real options before you.. unless someone “crazy” enough like me “appears” and is willing to do what needs to be done, and i’ll be hated for it, whenever its needed /shrug.”
