BitTorrent Token (BTT) sale on Binance Launchpad goes off well despite technical glitch
Well, it seems that BTT is off to a flying start as a public sale of 59.8 billion BitTorrent Tokens (BTT) sold out in a flash on Binance’s Launchpad earlier today, despite a technical glitch that frustrated some users, according to a report by CoinDesk.
The sale of BTT started at 03:00 UTC and the token sale platform opened its doors to BTT investors through two separate sale sessions. One session was for those who were paying with TRX and the other session was for them who wished to pay using BNB tokens.
It is also noteworthy to mention that BTT is BitTorrent’s first token in its 17-year history. Tron acquire BitTorrent in June last year and it was one of the most high profile acquisitions of last year and in January BitTorrent announced that the company is working towards creating it sown cryptocurrency called the BitTorrent (BTT).
Speaking about the new token, Justin Sun said at the time, “ In one giant leap, the BitTorrent client can introduce blockchain to hundreds of millions of users around the world and empower a new generation of content creators with the tools to distribute their content directly to others on the web.”
Both the sales started at roughly the same time today and is expected to finish on3rd February 10:00 UTC.
Justin Sun, Founder and CEO of TRON tweeted to share the news. He said:
It is official: In the BNB session, all 23.76 billion BTT were sold to token sale participants within 13 minutes and 25 seconds. Meanwhile, in the TRON session, all 35.64 billion BTT were sold within 14 minutes and 41 seconds.

Binance CEO and founder Changpeng Zhao also tweeted saying that the sale could have ended in seconds if not for technical issues that acted as a minor hiccup.
Both sessions concluded. Took about 18 minutes, due to a system issue, would have taken 18 seconds otherwise. Demand was astronomical.
