International mobile traffic may reach 19 exabytes (billions of gigabytes) per month in 2018 (Cisco Visual Networking Index Global Mobile Data Traffic Forecast for 2013 to 2018). According to research from 2015 and 2016, more than 80% of the population in developed countries have access to the Internet, and more than 60% of Europeans own smartphones, with almost constant access to the network. The expected growth in mobile traffic will be, among other things, the result of the continued increase in mobile internet connections of personal devices and machine-to-machine connections, whose number will exceed 10billion in 2018.

International roaming translates into high expenses both for telecoms and subscribers around the world. Inter-operator fees for entering roaming market now exceed $20 million. Developing countries are most hit by exceptionally high roaming prices in a market dominated by a few telecom giants. According to Starhome Silent Roaming, 70% of subscribers disable data roaming, and just 1% of subscribers consume 80% of all traffic in roaming. Bubbletone Blockchain intends to create a fair and transparent ecosystem for the telecom industry to substitute for current ineffective and costly roaming technology. With Bubble Tone Blockchain, travelers can become verified local customers of any foreign operator in the country they are traveling to. They don`t need to replace their SIM card, and they retain their home number.

Oleg Pravdin, BubbleTone’s co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, says:"In the true spirit of decentralization, BubbleTone’s blockchain platform provides smart contracts to enable payments between a traveler and a foreign carrier that have clearly no prearranged business relationship. This blockchain is lightning-fast, working in real time, just as expected from a retail-oriented system."

Yury Morozov, founder, and CEO, who pioneered telecom innovations for over 20 years, explains, "BubbleTone’s distributed nature means that both the entry threshold and the cost of ownership are low. BubbleTone platform is able to provide trust without relying on agreements. And Graphene is also versatile because it can be developed in a modular fashion with built-in business logic, making it adaptable to many different uses and very scalable while maintaining transaction speed."

By connecting to Bubbletone Blockchain, carriers will avoid the need to enter into roaming agreements. Mobile carriers will be able to connect to Bubbletone Blockchain through a simple API (Application Programming Interface). They do not have to go through a complicated and lengthy process, as in the case of roaming. The connection of new carriers to the Blockchain is carried out by the consensus of existing players, which makes the process transparent, excludes patronage, and also significantly reduces the appearance of scammers.

California-based company ShoCard has partnered with BubbleTone’s  to provide user authentication. ShoCard is a premier blockchain-based digital ID management platform capable of verifying user identities without handling any personal data. With multinational telecom players showing interest and more new partnership agreements in the pipeline, BubbleTone is geared up to run an ICO starting 20 April 2018 to be able to further expand and scale the platform.
