Cardano’s venture capital firm Emurgo launches “light-client wallet”, Yoroi
Emurgo, the venture capitalist partner of Cardano Foundation has made a declaration about launching Yoroi, a light wallet on Cardano, itself. Following the unexpected announcement of 14th August by the CEO of Cardano, Hoskinson, Emurgo released a YouTube video on 15th August introducing Yoroi for the first time, before the world.

In the video, Ken Kodama who is Emurgo’s CEO and also happens to be one of Cardano’s founders has informed about the impressive features of the wallet. The points of distinction of Yoroi from the rest involve its speed, simplicity and security, as mentioned by Kodama.
IOHK, the engineering firm under Hoskinson is responsible to develop this light weight wallet that forms one of the products of Emurgo. As per the industrial standards, Yoroi makes use of the best possible software practices. This is also inclusive of the facility of security audit. Furthermore, Kodama’s announcement has made it clear that the wallet is designed, accordingly to suit the daily usage of the customers.
The commercial activities of the Foundation are assisted by the blockchain based organisation, Emurgo. The latter seeks to channelise businesses on the blockchain technology of this organisation. Widening the domain of the Foundation along with reaching out to the businesses, all over the world are the primary goals envisioned by Emurgo.
As per the official post of Cardano on the popular social media platform, Twitter, it is stated, “The Cardano roadmap has been updated with a special announcement on Project Icarus, a reference implementation for lightweight wallets, and Yoroi, a light-client wallet launched by Emurgo today!”
The mention of the newly released wallet Icarus has been made in the final declaration by the co-founder of IOHK. Google Chrome extension will facilitate the running of this new wallet. Hoskinson has mentioned that Yoroi happens to be Icarus’ hard fork and the testnet would take place in August, itself. However, MainNet might get launched tentatively in the month of September.
Quite recently, the Foundation has announced the launching of IELE testnet. the motive behind this release is providing assistance to the virtual machine of Cardano in terms its effectiveness, quality and growth. This also seeks to enhance the security, thereby, eliminating the possible risks.
