Change.org has received a petition recently urging to make cryptocurrencies, particularly Dogecoin, an official mode of payment on the leading e-commerce platform Amazon, reported Bitcoin Exchange Guide.

The Change.org is a petition website and is a 'world platform for change' to raise awareness for several causes that need to be addressed and resolved. The leading e-commerce platform doesn't accept payments in digital currencies. Citing that as a cause of concern, the petition has been submitted to make the global e-commerce giant acknowledge virtual currencies.

Why should Amazon accept Dogecoin and other cryptocurrencies as its payment mode?

The petition was reportedly submitted by Mark E., who believes that if cryptocurrencies aren't acknowledged, it is leaving out many people across the world, particularly the ones with narrow access to traditional finance accounts. He also added that as a global pioneering brand, Amazon should be one of its first to accept cryptocurrencies.

Dogecoin has unique characteristics like immense coin supply, stable value, good speed and minimal transaction fees. Citing these promising characteristics that the coin holds, Mark E filed the petition.

The petition, which is aiming to bag 15,000 signatures, has already entered more than 10,800 signatures in its court.
