Coinbase adds new plugin; Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, Bitcoin Cash Reach Millions of web Stores
Coinbase, digital currency exchange headquartered in San Francisco has released a new plugin to enable millions of websites to trade major cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin and Bitcoin Cash. In addition to this, the plugin allows merchants to accept cryptocurrency payments directly from their customers from anywhere in the world.
According to the blog post published by the Coinbase exchange on their official website, the plugin is designed to work with WooCommerce, the popular open-source platform which integrated into more than three million WordPress websites. The plugin is available on GitHub.
The blog post reads, “For merchants using WooCommerce, one of the most popular eCommerce platforms on the web, it’s now easier than ever to start accepting cryptocurrencies as a form of payment. The widely-used plugin powers more than 28% of all online stores — and all of them now have access to cryptocurrency payments from customers around the world. This increased access will lead to more widespread adoption, and ultimately, moves us closer to our goal of an open financial system.”
The exchange further added that the popular and widely used plugin is adopted by over 28% of the web stores- and all of them now have access to cryptocurrency payments from customers around the world. Coinbase believes that the increased access will further lead to the adoption globally by a wide number of users which will ultimately move them closer to achieving the goal of open financial system.
The exchange has added a new functionality to enable users to send Bitcoin and Litecoin directly from Coinbase Commerce. The exchange in the process of providing similar fun functionality for Ethereum and Bitcoin Cash.
In addition to this, the exchange has added new features such as React Payment Button- enable users website to accept cryptocurrency payments and sell tickets. And Python library for the Coinbase Commerce API.
The exchange is majorly aiming to make cryptocurrencies an easy payment option and is open to feedbacks.

Coinbase’s new plugin: WooCommerce
For merchants using WooCommerce, one of the most popular eCommerce platforms on the web, it’s now easier than ever to start accepting cryptocurrencies as a form of payment. WooCommerce is an open source e-commerce plugin for WordPress. It is designed for small to large-sized online merchants using WordPress. Launched on September 27, 2011, the plugin quickly became popular for its simplicity to install and customize and free base product.
