Electronics giant HTC announced that it will be creating the world’s first crypto phone with a native blockchain network, known as Exodus, PCMag reported in May. It was reported that the Taiwan-based electronics firm would include support for Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) networks. In a recent tweet Litecoin founder, Charlie Lee noted that the phone will also support Litecoin (LTC) and Lightning Network on Litecoin natively.

In the first announcement, it was said that the smartphone with a native blockchain network will be for cryptocurrency trading between users. However, on July 10, the company stated that it will introduce a smartphone containing a cryptocurrency wallet and CryptoKitties, the Ethereum-based decentralized application (DApp) game, CoinTelegraph reported.

Charlie Lee tweeted, “Met the HTC Exodus team last week and was really excited to hear the phone will support LTC and Lightning Network on Litecoin natively! I will be an advisor as I see having a secure crypto phone that makes LN simple is needed for mass adoption. P.S. No, they will not remove BTC.”

HTC Exodus website boasts of two decades of experience in manufacturing “world’s leading smartphones, and shipping over 100 million phones.” The website adds, “We can help reshape the internet with the HTC Exodus.” When the plan was first revealed in May, Phil Chen, the creator of HTC Vive and HTC’s head of business and corporate development said that the product allow customers to “truly own their data [...] without the need for central authorities.” Cointelegraph reported.

After the recent tweet by Lee, Phil Chen retweeted it saying, “Privileged for the Exodus Phone to be working with @SatoshiLite and @starkness. Excited to be on this journey with you.” Litecoin community is pretty excited with the new development. One of the Twitter users even commented, “This is above and beyond my expectations considering the bearish year thus far, and one can only hope that after all the many positive things happening with #LTC #LN #LitePay and LTC leading the way with seniority/transparency/credibility/real-world utility.”
