Cryptoasset hedge fund Ikigai hires three new executives 23658 Hedge Fund

Ikigai Asset Management, a cryptoasset hedge fund launched by Travis Kling, Point72 Portfolio Manager announced in a press release on Thursday that they will be adding three new executive hires.

The three new hires are Christina Martin joined as Partner from Plutos Capital Group, while Daniel Heller and Oliver Zahn have joined as Advisors from BitLumens and Google respectively.

“We’ve seen significant traction with sophisticated investors on what we’re building at Ikigai and have an imminent need to continue to build out our deep bench of experts. We’re thrilled to add seasoned industry veterans with diverse backgrounds to the Ikigai team,” said Travis Kling, Co-Founder and CIO, Ikigai.

Daniel Heller, before joining Ikigai, served as CFO in BitLumens, a decentralized blockchain based power grid that spread solar power equipment in areas with no power-grid and connects them to the blockchain. Before twenty years, he was the Director of Financial Stability and Oversight at Swiss National Bank.

“I’ve focused on the impact of blockchain technology in the financial sector for the last several years of my career and have seen firsthand the need for creation of, and access to, a more sophisticated digital currency investment vehicle,” said Heller.

Oliver Zahn is currently heading Data Science in Google. Previously, he was incorporated as the Chief Data Scientist at Impossible Foods. Over there he led data science efforts to create the Impossible Burger. Before that, he was the Executive Director of UC Berkeley’s Cosmology department. With his science techniques, he first discovered Gravitational Lensing along with two other Nobel Laureates.

“I look forward to helping Ikigai architect and implement a world-class data science environment to drive thoughtful investment in a technology that is making the world a better place,” said Oliver Zahn.

Martin who is joining as Partner in Ikigai was the Director of Plutos Capital Investment Bank, EVP of Institutional FX Trading at Odeon Capital, CEO of Backstage Artist Lounge Touring, and much more.

“There is a clear need in the marketplace for institutional investors to have a trusted, experienced, sophisticated fiduciary through which to gain exposure to this new asset class. Ikigai stands ready as that solution,” said Martin

Martin will also work alongside Timothy Lewis, Anthony Emtman and Travis Kling on the Executive Leadership team at Ikigai.
