Enterprise Software Giant “SAP” to unveil their Blockchain for Agricultural Supply Chain
The Blockchain platform will be focused on the Farm to Consumer project. The blockchain platform will be specifically focussing on agricultural supply chain.
Torsten Zube, VP, Head of Blockchain in SAP stated, “The Farm to Consumer project perfectly showcases a common pattern we see in many of our blockchain projects. Cross-company collaboration along complex value chains for which the technology can remove abundant process steps and friction, and establish automated trust.”
SAP has planned to achieve the Blockchain initiative into the supply chain by integrating the blockchain with Globe Track and Trace technology. This will “act as an additional layer complementary to core processes that creates one shared view on the data from all involved stakeholders contributing to the supply chain.”
Further he added that the prospect integrated technology will be beneficial for the companies. It will aid them in tracking edible items, requests and services and executing transactions correctly.
SAP is expanding its dimensions in Blockchain. The company will be working in association with modum.io for the supply chain projects.
Modum is a Switzerland based startup focussing on supply chain. Modum focuses on maintaining data integrity in its supply chain business processes with Blockchain assistance.
Zube stated, “If enterprises can access the complete version of product history. This could result in a shift from a central unilateral supplier-led production to a consumer demand-led supply organized by a consortium of peers.”
