Fujitsu opens International Blockchain Innovation Center in Brussels
Sources say, Fujitsu company inaugurated its international blockchain innovation center in Brussels, Belgium on March 21, 2018. The center is specially designed for educating consumers and enterprises about Blockchain and Distributed Ledger technologies. It will assist them in terms of buying, selling and exchanging of goods and services. The informative research center will also aid organizations on how they can change their business models.
The new research center intends to collaborate projects to test Blockchain’s potential in it. The company aims to build Blockchain beyond the financial services.
“We are already seeing high levels of interest from our customers in better understanding how they can integrate blockchain into business processes. Our new Blockchain Innovation Center in Brussels demonstrates the importance Fujitsu attaches to blockchain as a technology, and to Brussels as location for supporting our international customers investigating or already implementing blockchain solutions. The underlying principle of blockchain is that transactions are virtually impossible to alter, creating a high level of trust. This is just the beginning, as we intend to explore the wider potential use of blockchain in a variety of commercial areas”, said by Head of Fujitsu Benelux.
“Belgium is the ideal place to establish an international competence center such as the Fujitsu Blockchain Innovation Center. Belgium is located in the center of Europe. Moreover, Belgium’s economy is driven by innovation. Furthermore, our people have great language skills, which make them great collaborators in any multinational company or international project. It is important that all levels of government continue to actively work with innovative companies to sustain the overall economic fabric in Belgium”, said Kris Peeters, Deputy Prime Minister of Belgium.
One important domain where Fujitsu plans to develop blockchain design and implementation is the Smart City services.
The center wants to support and encourage organizations to participate and innovate their business solutions.
