The U.S. based Cryptocurrency payment startup Ripple has announced the former and 42nd President of the United States, Bill Clinton as the keynote speaker for Swell.
The conference will take place in San Francisco over the first two days of October, Ripple revealed in a press release. The Former president will not only give keynote but will participate in a question and answer session.
National Economic Council Director and Advisor under Presidents Clinton and Obama, Gene Sperling will host a Q&A with President Clinton during the keynote address.

The release reads,“These learnings are perhaps more relevant now than ever before. Like the Internet boom of the 90’s, we are at an impasse: digital assets and blockchain technology offer a way for value to be exchanged as quickly as information – creating more financial inclusion and economic opportunity. However, with this new technology comes potential for concern, requiring thoughtful policy to protect consumers from risk without hampering innovation.”
Swell 2018 will feature new programs which include Financial services companies using blockchain technology in production, Newmarket opportunity in remittances, e-commerce, and corporate marketplaces Frameworks for regulating digital assets across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East
President Clinton “helped usher in a period of extreme growth and adoption of the internet” as president, according to the release. He also oversaw programs which helped communities and individuals gain access to the internet during his presidency.
American actor, Morgan Freeman replied to the tweet saying, “I am sure bill clinton has a lot of valuable insight to cryptocurrency. I am sure he has hundreds of github commits. I am sure ripple is not a shitcoin scam”
