HitBTC, a contentious cryptocurrency exchange recently announced on Twitter that it has upgraded EOS as a quote currency on its exchange platform. To improvise on its liquidity, it has introduced trading pairs based on the cryptocurrency
The announcement came on Twitter on 12 September 2018.

HitBTC made an open statement that they are launching the trading pairs with XRP, Litecoin (LTC), Monero (XMR), Dash, and Bytecoin (BCN)
The tweet read, “We are officially upgrading @eos_io’s EOS to a quote currency at HitBTC! EOS will be available to trade against $XRP, $LTC, $XMR, $DASH, $BCN, and many other currencies, starting from 12 September, 15:00 UTC.”
Before jumping towards EOS, the exchange introduced Euro based Stablecoin EURS to its platform and it lists its first “crypto euro to crypto dollar pair.”
According to reports, EURS was launched to reduce some market share from Tether’s USDT token. The USDT token has been under controversies as some claim that it is being used to manipulate the price of Bitcoin.
The stablecoin criticized for having too much power
EOS is also on the same lines as some claim it to be centralized which makes it all the more controversial. This is due to the fact that the cryptocurrency has 21 miners, similar to that of bitcoin miners. The stablecoin is being apparently criticised that it has too much power.
The cryptocurrency has one of the highest liquidity among all other cryptocurrencies in the ecosystem. It is traded on top exchanges like Binance, OKEx, and Huobi.
HitBTC is also controversial since John McAfee launched a campaign against HitBTC during the last week of August, due to its withdrawal fees on Docademic (MTC), a project where users can avail free health care services
Let us wait to see if the stable coin is going to help HitBTC against all controversies.
