Jeanine Hightower-Sellitto to join Gemini as MD of Operations
Jeanine Hightower-Sellitto will join the Gemini team as Managing Director of Operations in order to help Gemini achieve its aim of building both a world-class marketplace and client services team, as Gemini is keen on building the future of money. This was announced by Cameron Winklevoss in Gemini's Medium post on Wednesday.
The company feels that with Jeanine around, they can continue to deliver the best platform experience possible.
Previously, working with International Securities Exchange (ISE) as Chief Operating Officer for 13 years, she helped build the company from a startup to one of the most important exchanges in the world that was acquired by NASDAQ. Over there, she held multiple leadership positions in business development, relationship management, and product management.
The company feels that the challenges that she has faced and will be facing will help achieve targets for the company and will eventually reach great heights.
“Scaling a New York trust company in one of the fastest growing industries in the world carries with it unique challenges — challenges that Jeanine’s deep background in marketplaces and leading high-achieving operational teams will help us navigate as we sail the Gemini Spaceship towards the moon,” said the blog post.
As BC Focus reported earlier, Gemini Trust Company have secured insurance coverage for digital assets taken into custody through an international consortium of industry-leading insurers and arranged by Aon, an international professional services firm that provides solutions for all risk, retirement, and health-related issues. This insurance coverage is in addition to the already available FDIC-insured US Dollar deposits.
In another development last month, Financial Times reported that the crypto trading platform, set up by the Winklevoss twins, Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, has reportedly hired advisers to explore a potential entry into Britain.
With these tie-ups, the company looks well set to "build the future of money."
