Dash [DASH] is stepping up its crypto game in Latin America. Dash recently announced an exclusive partnership with Kripto Mobile Corp (KRIP), which makes cryptocurrency-enabled phones, to provide Latin Americans with an affordable way of using digital coins for daily transactions.

Under the deal, KRIP’s phones will be pre-loaded with the Dash ecosystem, which includes features such as the crypto's wallet and the ability to spend through partner apps like Bitrefill – a cryptocurrency prepaid phone company.

The partnership was announced at the Dash Caracas conference held in Venezuela on Saturday.

“…cryptocurrencies have the potential to affect real change, especially for people experiencing hyperinflation where cryptocurrency is less volatile,” said Bradley Zastrow, head of global business development at Dash Core Group.

As a result of the tie-up, Latin Americans can easily use their KRIP phones to spend or send the digital asset without the need to physically visit banks or spend high fees associated with fiat payments.

Moreover, KRIP phone users will have a dedicated support line in case of questions or issues related to the phone in the form of the Caracas-based Dash Help Me customer support service.

“What makes the KRIP phone so unique, beyond being a great smartphone at a good price, is that it makes this user experience a central part of using a cell phone. The critical element to moving to mainstream is the need for removing the friction that exists today with the cryptocurrency experience. We’re doing that with the KRIP phones,” Zastrow added.

Users will also have access to Bitrefill’s services for phone recharges, bill payments and gift cards for e-commerce, travel and online games.

How will Latin Americans benefit from the deal?

Latin Americans can thus be shielded from fluctuations in the value of local currency, since near-instant transactions means the value of the transaction will not shrink owing to currency fluctuations.

Moreover, KRIP phones are very affordable. The phones, available across Latin America, is currently selling for under $100.

“We are seeing an incredible transition period in Latin America with those who are unbanked, underbanked, or simply do not want to use the traditional banking system. Combining our accessible, affordable phones with Dash’s InstandSend transaction capabilities and low fees will provide a myriad of benefits to these communities,” said Luis Sosa, KRIP co-founder.

Users of KRIP phones, while paying for Bitrefill with the coin, will also receive a 10 percent discount on all purchases for a limited time. In addition, KRIP and Dash Core Group will hold a monthly sweepstakes, where KRIP users will have the chance to win tokens every month.
