Lisk [LSK] ushers in new era as Lisk Core 1.0 migration to Mainnet begins
Lisk [LSK] has marked a new milestone on Wednesday. Lisk Core 1.0 migration to its Mainnet officially began, after months of stringent development and testing. Now, all Mainnet nodes should be upgraded to Lisk Core 1.0 from the earlier Core 0.9.16 version.
The team behind the decentralized altcoin had earlier said that the migration would only begin once a block height of 6,901,027 was reached. As predicted by the developers, the block height was reached on Wednesday.
? The migration of #Lisk Core 1.0 to Mainnet has officially begun!
A friendly reminder: given that Lisk is fully decentralized, we cannot control the activity on our network. However, we advise everyone to avoid making transactions 24h prior to & after this time.

“Today marks the beginning of a new era for the Lisk community…an achievement that reaffirms our ambition to be the enablers of innovation in the fast-evolving blockchain ecosystem,” said Max Kordek, Lisk co-founder.
Team releases patch to fix bugs
Last week, the team had announced a Lisk Core 1.0.1 Patch Release, which is fully compatible with the Core 1.0.0. The new version fixes two key issues.
The Core 1.0.1 version fixes the issue of the Docker configuration template and enhances the performance of the /api/transactions endpoint.
Although it is not compulsory for users who do not face those issues, the developers recommended that all exchanges and other service operators use the new version.
New versions “minor” but crucial
According to the developers, both the new versions are minor but very crucial. “Having a stable and reliable network is not only fundamental but mandatory for achieving our goals,” the team wrote in a blog post on Medium.
The rollout of the Core 1.0 version was backed by efforts of contributors from LiskHQ and the altcoin’s community. More than 1,000 issues were closed along with thousands of peer reviews.
The digital asset itself was trading in the green amid a broadly consolidating crypto market. As of 1730 GMT, the coin had climbed 1.1 percent against the U.S. dollar to trade at $5.12. Currently, LSK is the 22nd most valuable virtual currency, with a market cap of over $560 million.
