The cryptocurrency market woke up this week to a hint of green, with over 10% rise in prices. The sudden price rise is being attributed to Bitcoin’s price which seen a sharp rise in over 2 months’ time. But is the tide turning? The turning of the tide cannot be predicted yet, but the prices of several cryptocurrencies have improved. IOTA (MIOTA) especially has been in the spotlight for the new developments.
The past week has been quite an eventful one for the decentralized ledger company. FCoin, a Chinese cryptocurrency exchange made an announcement on Sunday stating that it plans to list IOTA and EOS. According to the exchange platform’s announcement, trading for MIOTA will start on July 25th, 2018. This and the other new developments on the platform show that the Decentralized Ledger company is on the right track.
IOTA team wins at the Start-up Autobahn pitch event
The IOTA team have emerged as winners at the Start-up Autobahn pitch event conducted in Stuttgart. The event is a major platform for the development of the automotive industry. It provides a platform for participants to present innovative, Blockchain-based solutions for the automotive industry. The award-winning presentation, ‘innovative blockchain and automotive solutions’ was presented by Alisa Maas on behalf of the IOTA team.
This year’s event was attended by over 30 start-ups from over 13 countries. The event was also attended by industry bigwigs such as Porsche and Mercedes. Earlier this year, the industry giant, Volkswagen released an over-the-air proof of concept, at CEBIT 2018. The proof-of-concept was developed in collaboration with IOTA.
The IOTA Summer Summit 2018
The first official IOTA Summer Summit was conducted in Oslofjord, Norway. The event, conducted from 7th to 14th of July, served as a platform for the entire IOTA team to meet. The summit’s main goal was to bring the founders, board and the rest of the team together. It provided a platform for people in different departments to interact and align themselves in terms of work and communication.
The summit also served another major purpose for the IOTA foundation. The IOTA Foundation entered into new partnerships with several companies and NGOs. The Blockchain company has collaborated with the Peace Innovation Foundation to make the lives of UN staff more secure. Dominik Schiener, the co-founder of IOTA Foundation said,
“We’re doing this because we genuinely believe in this collaborative approach to offer the UN new capabilities, designed and tailored to its very unique challenges. And we want to put our money where our mouth is.”
Price dips again!
Despite this positive news, the cryptocurrency’s price suffered a setback. It saw a brief rise yesterday before it dipped down below the $1 mark. It seems that the price of $4.5, which the coin saw a few months ago, may not be reached soon. In the past 24 hours, the coin has declined by 2.67%, despite a rise in Bitcoin’s price. Bitcoin’s price is set to go through a long bull run in all probability, but it probably won’t affect altcoins prices. MIOTA can expect to see a surge once the situation calms down a bit.
