North Korea attains milestone with its first international blockchain & cryptocurrency conference
North Korea is set to host its first international blockchain and cryptocurrency conference. The conference will be held in the country’s capital, Pyongyang in the month of October, reported CCN.
Being an international conference, it will bring the blockchain and cryptocurrency professionals from all over the globe under one roof, and will help in the exchanges of valuable ideas. The event will be reportedly closed after a meet-and-greet session with the business leaders of the country.
“North Korea sent emails that could hack into cryptocurrency exchanges and their customers’ private information and stole (cryptocurrency) worth billions of won,” said South Korean member of Parliament, Kim Byung-kee.
However, judging the country’s scenario, it is still unconfirmed how this conference will be conducted. Conference tourism industry of the country is not fully grown and countries like the United States have restricted most of the citizens from traveling to North Korea. Considering these scenarios, it is still blurry how the country will host a conference on an international level.
