Quebec government not interested in Bitcoin mining, without added Value
Quebec government showing cold shoulders to all bitcoin mines in their region. As for the fact, most countries are dealing faster on cryptocurrency mining including leading company like China, it led down to search other new green pastures elsewhere. One such opt green pastures land is found to be in Canada. Their province Quebec, which is known to be for cheap power is the most favourite place for bitcoin mining but unfortunately, the region, is giving cold response to bitcoin miners. Bitcoin mining operators are forced to relocate their mining somewhere else.
Premier of Quebec, Philippe Couliard in a conference in the capital Montreal announced that their country is not interested in Bitcoin mining. They are asking to paid, “added value” amount for their society.
“If you want to come settle here, plug in your servers and do Bitcoin mining, we’re not really interested. There needs to be added value for our society; just having servers to do transaction mining and acquire new bitcoins, I don’t see the added value.”
In recent scenario, Quebec has emerged as one of the most hotspot for cryptocurrency mining operations worldwide. With the mass influx from China and other country Hydro-Quebac is full with partnership queries as companies are looking for cheap wholesale rates.
With the line-up of 30 applications with in the month of January, Hydro-Quebec warned it that they won’t be able to power the number of projects interested in setting their mines in their province. In fact, high tariffs for miners are also in their planning.
In a statement, Eric Martel, CEO of Hydro-Quebec said,
“If all we do is connect the bitcoin miners who have applied, we could create an issue for ourselves. There are limits to what we can do. I have a huge network with lots of capacity, but I cannot host the entire planet.”
Meanwhile, in New York authorities granting permission for Bitcoin mining. They on a full scale setting up to begin mines, based on the added jobs and economy value it would prosper to their local citizens or community.
