As per a TNW report, Pornhub, a pornographic website revealed that less than 1 percent of viewers on their platform pay the subscription through cryptocurrency.

In the month of April, announced that users can now buy a premium subscription with cryptocurrency. But from what Pornhub have revealed, it looks like not many users are happy about paying through a blockchain powered platform.

Though the company doesn’t reveal the amount paid by the users for the premium service. It is been researched that 28.5 million people were attracted by the website last year.

Pornhub is being positive about this and they still believe in technology.

“That being said, we expect to see widespread adoption of crypto and blockchain on our site in the near future,” a spokesperson said.

Earlier viewers were able to purchase their premium subscriptions with only Verge token. Now the company has expanded to other cryptocurrencies such as TRON and ZenCash.

Soon they are planning on implementing PumaPay, an Ethereum based payment platform. PumaPay is confident in tying up with the porn website by the first quarter of 2019, while the Pornhub spokesperson couldn’t provide a fixed time for implementation.

As reported by BC Focus earlier, PornHub VP Corey Price said, “Decentralized payment systems have continued to grow in popularity, and cryptocurrency adoption is exploding across a broad economic spectrum. Today, cryptocurrencies are especially viable in the adult entertainment industry because they are privacy-centric and incorporate more anonymity tools than traditional tender.”

When Verge partnered with porn site back in April, Verge was excited about the partnership.

“Pornhub is a global organization with nearly a hundred million daily users. This partnership represents an enormous market with a global reach that will compete with fiat currencies. It’s huge for Verge and we’re extremely excited to finally be able to announce it,” said Justin Sunerok, Founder, Verge.
