TRON recently shared BitTorrent (BTT) airdrop timeline for it would rewarding the TRON (TRX)holders. This comes soon after their successful niTron Summit 2019. It hosted a number of well-known personalities such as CEO of Kiip, CEO of BitGuild, CEO of NWay, and director of Bancor, amongst many others.
TRON founder, Justin Sun, shared the news of BitTorrent airdrop on Twitter stating, “On February 11th, 2019, the BitTorrent Foundation will initiate its first airdrop of BitTorrent $BTT to the TRON $TRX holders.”
The details of the announcement was made on Medium stating that BitTorrent Foundation will be initiating its first airdrop of BitTorrent (BTT) to TRX holders. The first airdrop would be taking place when the block height of TRON reaches 6.6 million.
“The snapshot will be taken when TRON’s block height reaches 6.6 million*. Based on this snapshot, BitTorrent Foundation will initiate its first airdrop of 10,890,000,000 BitTorrent (BTT), corresponding to 1.1% of total circulating supply,” according to the Medium post.
In the official post, BitTorrent explains that airdrops will be following a 1:1 ratio rule. So, if someone is holding 1 TRX, the user will be eligible to receive 1 BTT. “All official wallets relaying on TRON’s network and carrying TRX will be eligible for BTT airdrops corresponding to the amount they are holding. No minimum of TRX is required to qualify for BTT airdrops,” the post added.
After the initial airdrop, within 12 months space, 1.2% of total supply, 11,880,000,000 BTT, would be dished out to the holders, and in 2020, around 12,870,000,000 BTT airdrop will be allocated. For the next six years, BitTorrent added that the airdrop would be increased sequentially by 0.1% per year. By 2025, BitTorrent aims to allocate 1.7% of the total circulating supply for airdrop.
