Tron has been in the news for all its new developments. The most hyped one was obviously acquisition of BitTorrent. The platform officially confirmed the news, making the Tron community curious is what’s coming next for the network.
In a recent tweet, Tron founder, Justin Sun claimed that Tron is 80 times faster than Ethereum. He added, “With 14 years of experience, @BitTorrent is providing a world-class service to 100 million users in 138 countries. Add the two together and you get the largest and most advanced peer-to-peer network in the world!”
It was soon flooded with comments with some in favour of the new partnership and the news shared by Dun. While others pointed that the token is still just $0.04. However, not everyone thinks the same – one of the followers commented, “Why does everyone judge a project by price.
Yeah the price is low, doesn’t mean it’s not good. Please tell me why the “product” is not good and please do not use “price” as the determining factor. [sic]” Another user praised Sun for all that he did for the crypto space, he commented, “Justin I love what you’ve done with the crypto space. It’s fabulous just fabulous.”
Vitalik Buterin’s take on Tron
Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin hints at plagiarism when Justin Sun previously shared the reasons why Tron is better than Ethereum. Tron developers allegedly plagiarised code from other projects in their codebase. Multiple instances have been discovered by the researchers from Digital Asset Research (DAR).
They apparently plagiarized code from Ethereum among the other projects and then changed filenames. It was done so that identifying the source of the code becomes difficult. An article by DAR was published on Medium related to the plagiarism and technical problems that can stop the Tron MainNet to go ahead.
Meanwhile, BitTorrent cleared the rumours related to mining crypto. Responding to the rumours, BitTorrent released a statement saying that the company will not be abandoning its core product. BitTorrent statement mentioned, “We wish to reiterate that BitTorrent has no plans to change what we do or charge for the services we provide. The acquisition will not dramatically affect the platform, BitTorrent confirmed. BitTorrent stated, “…we believe our vision of democratizing the Web by enabling decentralized, resilient access to information remains as relevant as it was when we started.”
For now, the community is eagerly waiting for Tron Virtual Machine launch which is scheduled for July 30. On the very same day, the secret project will also be revealed by Sun.
