TRON [TRX] surpasses the 100 million transactions mark as bulls kick in
TRON, currently the 10th most valuable cryptocurrency in the market has been making steady gains. From launching their Accelerator program to gearing up for their flagship summit, niTROn, in January 2019, the bulls look to return.
Justin Sun, the CEO of the Tron Foundation highlighted another accolade, when he revealed the TRX network has completed the processing of over 100 million transactions, via Twitter on 16 December.
The impetus to the 100 million transactions mark is the focus on Decentralised Applications (DApps) on the TRON network. In order to verify the claim, Sun included a link, in his tweet, to a TRX block explorer that confirms the milestone.
TRONbet, the first and now most prominent DApp to be launched on the TRON ecosystem was played over 10,000 times on its initial day of release. Since then, TRONbet has churned out over 10 million TRX tokens.
The impetus provided by TRONbet has propelled TRON past Ethereum on DApp count. In mid-November, during the peak of bearish onslaught, TRONbet recorded 422 million TRX transactions while IDEX, on the Ethereum network could manage only 2,430 ETH transactions per day.
TRON’s mainnet also saw a significant boost with the accounts on the mainnet crossing the 600,000 mark, which was done in just 143 days.
Given the plummeting conditions of both Ethereum and EOS during the beginning of the December downward swing, Sun, announced that he would create a “rescue fund” for the developers of EOS and ETH, if they migrate to the TRON network. This came days after he got into a scuffle with Ethereum co-founder Vitalik Buterin, who called Sun, “a shill and not worth listening to.”
Tron users are looking eagerly to 2019, as the year the coin cements its place in the top-10. Beginning the year off with the niTROn summit which will see the likes of Taehoon Kim, CEO of nWay, Sam Harrisson, Managing Partner at Blockchain, Brian Wong, CEO of Kiip and Kobe Bryant, the NBA legend in attendance and a will host a developers’ forum to enhance their ecosystem.
Currently, TRX has mildly edged up against the U.S. dollar by 1.61 percent and is priced at $0.0130 with a market cap of just under $870 million, as per CoinMarketCap.
