ZCash to grow from Sprout to Sapling
Since ZCash has one of the widest acceptance in mainstream cryptocurrencies, it falls as its biggest strength. It is one of the most important privacy coins in the market. JP Morgan and Coinbase are some companies that use ZCash for its privacy features. But the main network upgrade will take place on 28 October 2018. Its current version Sprout will be upgraded into a better version Sapling. This, without a doubt, will give ZCash a boost in the crypto-economy.
According to the crypto’s website, ZCash is the first open, permissionless cryptocurrency that can fully protect the privacy of transactions using zero-knowledge cryptography. It’s shielded transactions hide the sender, recipient, and value on the blockchain.
The upcoming upgrade will help the cryptocurrency in majorly two ways. One, it will make ZEC transactions faster. Two, its new shielded address will steer to more than a 97% time reduction in ZCash transactions.
Shielded address to change from “zc” to “zs”
The current version of the crypto is the sprout which has a shielded address “zc”. This requires 1.5 GB of storage memory and 40 seconds to create a zero-knowledge transaction. This turns out to be an extreme limitation in their service.
On activation, the new type of shielded address will have “zs”, which will work in an improving and efficient way. Sapling requires only 40 MB of computer memory and only a few seconds to create a zero-knowledge transaction.
But even without an upgrade, ZCash is a brilliant crypto to hold. Its privacy factor is one of its positive aspects since everybody needs to keep their wealth hidden from one another. This cryptocurrency is doing it the right way.
With an upgrade from Sprout to Sapling, the cryptocurrency would reach its heights in terms of a privacy coin. It might even be one among the top 5 cryptocurrencies in the world. So, coming to a conclusion, a long-term value growth is fixed.
