Rest of Europe News: Massive earthquake devastation in Turkey, buildings not covered like maps

On Friday, a severe earthquake in Izmir, Turkey was devastated. The magnitude of this earthquake was measured 7 on the Richter scale. At least 20 buildings in the city of Izmir collapsed due to this earthquake. It is said that it is possible that many people are buried under the debris. However, no deaths have yet been confirmed.

Relief and rescue operations underway
Turkish Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu said buildings in Bornova and Berakali were also damaged due to the earthquake. He said many teams are working in different cities for relief and rescue operations.

This is why the earthquake shocks
The American Geological Survey reported that the epicenter of the earthquake was 14 kilometers northeast of the city of Non-Karlovacian, Greece. Being the epicenter of this earthquake deep below the ground, its strong tremors were felt. This is why most of the buildings are damaged.

Turkish President Erdogan tweeted and wrote that Get Well Soon Izmir. We support all state resources with citizens affected by the earthquake. We have started the necessary work in this area with all our respective institutes and ministers.
