Samsung Dev Spain awards for best apps already have finalists

Samsung Dev Spain, the Spanish software developer community of Samsung Iberia, has announced the list of finalists for the 2020 Top Developer Awards, the awards with which the company wishes to recognize the work of its developer community, in addition to enriching the Galaxy Store app ecosystem.

“The community of developers that make up Samsung Dev Spain have made a big effort throughout the year and we want to recognize their work once again,” says Miguel ngel Ruiz, Head of Brand and Innovation at Samsung Electronics Iberia. “The Top Developer Awards are the greatest proof of the talent and potential of Spanish developers, who constitute a key professional sector for the challenges we face as a company, such as digitization.”

After being evaluated and shortlisted by the organization on the basis of parameters such as their quality, functioning and design, or their social and cultural value, the finalist candidates will now be voted among the members of Samsung Dev Spain, who will be able to choose their favorite to get these prices until November 1st.

Candidates include applications such as Alacarta RTVE or ALL FLAMENCO, which facilitate access to content on Smart TV. Among the finalists in the Mobile category is GOAZ, which lets you take a travel guide on your mobile, while Sat Track offers the ability to view satellites from any location, and Chronology Game is designed for be enjoyed with educational content on historical events.

In the category of the best applications with a social component, Hoy Madrid, a search engine for events and cultural proposals in the city, Tallk, developed by Irisbond in collaboration with Samsung and the Luzn Foundation to facilitate communication with ALS patients and Triple R., participate. which allows users to easily and quickly find waste recycling points. When it comes to the best applications with a cultural component, the MAN virtual class is a finalist, the application that brings the content of the National Archaeological Museum to educational centers and radios in Spain, with which you can access any station from a single panel to listen to it on live and online.

The awards consist of four categories:

Best app for smartphone Best app for smartTV Best app for social engagement (mobile app or smartTV) Best app for cultural engagement (mobile app or smartTV)

The finalist applications can be viewed on the newly launched Samsung Dev Spain website. Thus, Samsung Dev Spain inaugurates a new space that includes a renewed interface, a more intuitive registration process and a smarter design to organize and find the different contents.

In addition, the new website incorporates exclusive benefits for Premium members such as pre-access to events and training. The renewal of the Samsung Dev Spain website is another important step in the growth of this community, which in the past year alone has added more than 2,000 new developers, exceeding 9,300 members.

The awards ceremony will take place as part of Samsung Dev Day 2020, the annual event of the Samsung Dev Spain developer community, which will celebrate its 11th edition on November 12. This year the conference will take place virtually and feature a series of lectures and technical presentations during the event, with which software developers can learn and be inspired by innovations such as 5G, Artificial Intelligence, Big Data or issues such as the gender gap in STEM professions.
