SEUR strengthens its workforce with more than 4000 professionals for the Christmas campaign

SEUR is preparing to reinforce its infrastructure and staff again for the Christmas campaign, in a year marked by the COVID-19 health crisis and the extraordinary increase in e-commerce that results from it.

To face this period, and after having already hired 2,000 employees since the declaration of the state of alert, SEUR is once again strengthening its workforce with 2,100 professionals to face a campaign that should reach up to 50% of volumes in addition to last year, a historical figure who represents an unprecedented logistical challenge. With these new additions, SEUR will have created more than 4,000 jobs since the start of the crisis, most of them destined for delivery people, warehouses and customer service agents in autonomous communities such as Madrid, Catalonia or Andalusia. And, according to the company’s forecasts, from November 30 to December 6, more than 4 million packages will be transported.

Likewise, and with the aim of continuing to offer the best service to its customers, the express transport company has opened 21 new centers, expanding its logistics capacity by 85,000 m2, as well as its cold rooms and its storage of refrigerated products in order to cover the growing demand for transportation of fresh food and ready meals. Also expand its fleet of 1,600 vehicles.

For months, the company has been preparing for this period by making forecasts with Big Data and Machine Learning tools, in order to adapt its structure to volume peaks in a flexible and efficient manner.

In order to meet the needs of consumers during this period and to offer them maximum flexibility and convenience, the company provides them with the Pickup network, which currently has 2,300 points and includes convenience stores and smart lockers. A solution that allows the online buyer to choose where to receive their shipments with great freedom of schedules which include, in most cases, weekends.
