The Ministry of Health is convinced: with the arrival of the Janssen vaccine, the first single dose to fight against the coronavirus, the vaccination plan in Spain will experience an unprecedented turnaround since it began on December 27.
In that sense, ministry sources told LaSexta that the goal is to reach the peak of the country’s immunization capacity by the end of May or June. In other words, the number of vaccines to be inoculated (from all pharmaceutical laboratories) could be around 3.5 million weekly doses, which would guarantee the immunity objective for the summer: “The vaccination with the arrival de Janssen will accelerate a lot. “, underline the sources mentioned.
They have also highlighted another key point in recent days: the decision not to delay the second dose of the vaccine, as both experts and members of the executive believe that the ideal is to prioritize the vaccination of the larger number of population during this second trimester vulnerable to both doses.
In this way, it is recommended to end the vaccination of people aged 70 to 80 (since those over 80 have practically completed their first schedule across the country). But that of the other groups will not exceed.
Until now, the autonomous communities were receiving more and more doses of the antidote against the coronavirus, in particular from Pfizer, which already distributes at the rate of 1.2 million weekly doses. However, this amount will increase from April 26; more precisely, in 500,000 additional weekly doses. Immunization with AstraZeneca is also continuing, although it has limited the age of use, as well as with the injection of Moderna, although in the latter case at a lower rate than the others.
