Microsoft has started the implementation of the new pre-setup experience. This allows users to easily set up their environment before joining a Teams meeting. According to the Microsoft 365 roadmap, it is gradually being rolled out to the Teams desktop client on Windows 10.
Microsoft Teams launches new interface before meetings
Announced in August, the new Microsoft Teams pre-meeting meeting experience offers a more modern look and provides helpful, clear, and easy-to-follow instructions. The updated configuration screen provides easier discovery of meeting device selection and video / audio settings. More importantly, users can now select their background filter before joining a Teams meeting.
It goes without saying that this enhanced user interface is designed to unify settings and optimize the experience based on user feedback. This should help meeting participants ensure that their audio and video are working properly while a meeting is in progress. The feature is expected to be generally available by the end of November 2020.
