The problem behind Xbox Game Bar and error 0x803F8001

The Xbox Game Bar for Windows 10 is packed with useful features. Including a new resource monitor which works great. However, a recent server side update crashes the game bar with error 0x803F8001.

The latest Windows 10 error deprives some users of the game bar and its services. Several users contacted us and reported the following error message:

The growing number of threads on the Microsoft forum and Twitter confirm that something is going on with the Xbox Game Bar and that users have been reporting the issue for over 10 hours at this time, but Microsoft has yet to acknowledge the outage .

Xbox Game Bar error 0x803F8001 is the result of a server-side change made on November 5 and continues to affect users around the world. The exact cause is unclear and only affects users of Windows 10 on version 1809 or later. Also, only some users get the above error.
