The desktop version of Microsoft Teams will finally integrate this requested functionality. The reality is that within a channel, it was impossible to reply to or quote just one person. But Michel Bouman, director of the Microsoft Modern Work Territory Channel, recently shared the news on LinkedIn.
Microsoft Teams fixes one of its biggest loopholes
If you’re a Teams user who works with large groups, you might know that sometimes we want to respond to queries or ask for clarification on a specific post. Unlike Android or iOS apps, Microsoft’s desktop client currently doesn’t have a built-in option to reply to a specific message in 1: 1 chats or group chats.
This is where the new feature comes in, and it apparently works the same as other messaging apps. Thanks to the replies function, users will be able to access the specific message, hover over it and click on More options (…). We then click on the Reply option to reply directly.
The ability to reply to a specific post is a useful feature and has been in high demand on the Teams UserVoice forums. It should be noted that this feature does not have an explicit date. However, we expect its implementation to begin later this year or early next year.
